I met B and J a few weekends ago for their mini-maternity session at the beach. It was such a beautiful day and they were such a happy and excited couple! They are expecting a girl anytime now and they told me her name – OMG I LOVE it! I won’t share it with you yet in case it’s a surprise to their family and friends, but they get an A+ is name cuteness and originality, plus it’s French, so double awesome points! I can’t wait to share her newborn session once she arrives!
Here are a few of my favorites from our session:

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Skylar at just a few days old. She was so sweet and cuddly – I love my job! We found a great little spot in her home to photograph her – right next to a set of French doors that lead to the outside but gave us the perfect light, except that I was getting shadowing from the middle panels of the door. Of course, shooting with the doors open to solve the problem would have been too cold for this sweetie, and shooting with them closed would have given us uneven lighting, so we worked on getting her posed with the doors closed, and as soon as she was ready to be photographed, I would open the doors for a few seconds to take the shot, then shut them again to swich poses. Sometimes you just have to improvise! It was a true pleasure to photograph Miss Skylar. Thank you H family for the opportunity!

Little guy Will was so much fun to run around and chase – as most mobile one year olds, his environment is exciting, and he needs to explore it all! We had a great time shooting Will and his beautiful family a few weeks ago. Will had recently turned one, so of course we did a cake smash to celebrate! Totally some of the cutest cakey expressions ever – scroll down to see them

I can’t get enough of sweet baby Madalyn’s adorable smiles! Isn’t she just too cute for words? I had a wonderful time hanging out with 3 month old baby Madalyn and her super sweet mama and grandma on Superbowl Sunday. Instead of cheering for touchdowns, we cheered for smiles Lol. Yes, I do love my job… how could you not after getting to hang out with these little bundles of sweetness for 3 hours? Meet baby Julian – you might remember his gorgeous parents from their maternity session here. Little Julian made his way into the world just a few weeks ago, and I had the honor of photographing him just under 2 weeks old. When I took a peek at Julian’s back yard, I was super excited to see the fruit trees, and knew we had to incorporate them into his session. Here are a few of my favorites from our session. Ok so if you’ve been following my posts, you’ll know that I am not actually posting about ‘ketchup’, but actually playing ‘catch up’ with my 2010 blog posts. I certainly can’t forget these beautiful families, bellies and babes! Happy 2011 everyone! I’ll update this weekend with some newborn love
First off, here is the handsome Briggs – such a sweet guy!
Next up, another little newbie cutie… meet Miss Stella! She has the best ‘big sister’ – a huuuuuge English Mastiff that is full of cuddles… she is going to have so much fun with her when she gets older
Next up, Miss Hayden, who just turned one! Ok, actually she turned on in November, and our session got rained out – darn crazy San Diego weather! Little Hayden’s grandpa contacted me about doing a session for his little girl – he loves her SO much
To finish off this ‘Ketchup’ post, the gorgeous Vanessa, who is expecting her little one verrrry soon! I can’t wait to meet your new little peanut

Last year (as in a month ago, lol) I had the pleasure of photographing little 6 month old Chloe and her beautiful parents. With all of this crummy weather, we were so lucky to have one day of actual sun so that we could shoot Chloe in the crib just like I envisioned, just wearing her diaper cover. Usually these kinds of sessions work best in the summer due to the chill factor, but we scored with one day of sun, woot! Just look at Chloe’s eyes – gorgeous, so sparkling and inquisitive. She is such a cutie patootie! Thanks, L family for sharing a great day with me!
