Meet sweet baby Ethan! This little love was such a great sleeper and so sweet to cuddle! I had a great morning with Ethan’s mommy and daddy – I love being able to chit chat with new parents while capturing their sweet little one’s photographs. Mommy and daddy had just moved back to San Diego literally days before Ethan was born – as soon as they were settled, he decided to make his appearance! Anyway, thank you, M family for allowing me the opportunity to photograph your little cutie!

Friday, March 2nd, 2012Triple the fun! | San Diego Newborn Triplet Photographer | Sophie Crew Photography
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012Last month I had the pleasure of photographing these adorable little guys… introducing babies Corbin, Ryder and Hudson – San Diego’s newest little triple bunch! Our session went great – these little dudes slept for most of the session, and I was so impressed at how organized yet comfortable their parents were. As with my last triplet newborn session, my friend and fellow photographer Melanie Monroe came out to assist – thank you Melanie! We had a great time enjoying these three little dudes and capturing their first week of life. Thanks so much for the opportunity to capture these memories for you, B family!

Baby Caroline | San Diego Newborn Baby Photographer | Sophie Crew Photography
Friday, September 9th, 2011I was planning on blogging baby girl’s session last night but apparently San Diego decided to go dark – crazy power outage for the entire county… for those of you outside of San Diego, that was more than 4 million people without power for 12 hours!
I had the pleasure of meeting sweet Caroline just a few weeks ago for our newborn session. Mom and dad are so head over heels with this little love. She was such a great little model. Soooo, she may look adorable, sweet and cuddly but wow can she aim a poop! Lol, Caroline will go down in the books for being the first newborn to actually projectile poop about a foot away right onto my pants and the pretty white carpet, while still looking cute as a button, lol. Sorry about the carpet, C family!!
I am suuuuper behind in blog posts, so I hope to catch up on the gorgeous babies, families and bellies that I have been photographing lately.
Have a great weekend!
The Newborn Session | San Diego Newborn Photographer | Sophie Crew Photography
Tuesday, July 12th, 2011I love photographing newborn babies, I really do! Each newborn session for me is so exciting, as I walk into the homes of brand new parents who are just beaming with love and excitement for their new little one, and are so excited for our newborn portrait session. I always thought it would be great for expectant mommies searching for a newborn photographer to see what a typical session looks like. I put this video together just for you, mom and dad to be! I love photographing babies, and hope that this ‘behind the scenes’ peek at a typical newborn session will help give you an idea of what to expect for our session.
I work in the comfort of your own home, and our sessions last approximately 3 hours, and allow for a fun, casual and relaxed time, which allows for plenty of stress-free nursing/feeding, cuddling and prop/set changes. I love capturing a variety of sweet posed sleepy newborn shots as well as more candid interaction with mom, dad, a sibling – just capturing those precious moments. Newborns are photographed within the first 10 days of life, as they are still quite sleepy and bendy at that age for poses that mimic those inside the womb. So many moms and dads tell me how happy they are that I came to them, because in those first few days of having your newborn home, things are crazy hectic. As you can see in the video, I don’t need a lot of space – just an area near a window. I bring everything with me, and take special requests as to which props you want for me to bring along. I am constantly finding new props, blankets and hats for our sessions. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about Sophie Crew Photography!
Enjoy the video!!
Playing catch up… or ketchup as my 5 year old jokes… | San Diego Family and Newborn Photographer | Sophie Crew Photography
Friday, December 24th, 2010Ahhh yes, ketchup…. If you ever run into Ava, ask her to tell you the ketchup joke… you know – ‘what did the mama tomato say to the baby tomato while walking down the street?’ Yes I did teach that one to her, and yes, my jokes are just as awesome in person, lol.
Anyways, I am playing catch up with some posts from the past couple of months – November and December are the busiest months of the year and I have been working hard to get client galleries and orders ready, but I havn’t had a chance to do blog posts. I have quite a few more to go, and I hope to have them up by New Years, so bear with me
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Wishing you all a happy, safe and jolly holidays!
Here are a few recent sessions for you… tons more to come in the next few days…
First we have the cute and cuddly baby Caleb – and his beautiful family too
Look at
Next up is the gorrrrrgeous Jeanette, expecting her little guy (who has since made his appearance, yay!) I can’t wait to meet mini J
You might remember this handsome dude from last spring – here is Taylor and his beautiful mama Jillian – owner of Playtown Indoor Playground in El Cajon – Totally a fun place to bring the kiddos, especially on a rainy day
Do you remember sweet little Abigail from this session when she was just a few days old… well she’s now a beautiful and happy 6 month old baby girl. We had a great time at the beach (along with 839574 other photographers that day lol).
This sweet family and I had originally decided on a beach session shortly after the sunrise but when we got there we were freeeeeeeezing! It was so cold, and of course I wear nothing but flip flops anywhere – especially the beach…. my toes were frozen for a week! Anyways, we decided that it was too cold and moved nearby to a spot I ususally photograph at in the evenings, so it was fun scouting out new areas to find the best light for that time of day. We had a blast – they were such a fun and happy family
Off to make cookies with my girls for Santa. Wishing you ALL a Happy Holidays!!!
Beach Fun | San Diego Beach Family Photographer | Sophie Crew Photography
Wednesday, June 16th, 2010Yesterday, I had so much fun photographing the lovely F family. Mom wanted to be sure to get a few shots of her niece and nephews so that grandpa could have a beautiful picture of all of the grandkids together for Father’s Day, so all 9 of us set off for a fun time at the beach.
I am seriously learning that June is indeed ‘June Gloom’ month at the beach – super sunny inland, but bam! Hit the coast and it’s overcast! Like super duper overcast! Eek! The clouds sure didn’t take the sun away from this family though – they are a happy, fun and energetic bunch, and their smiles glowed so much that we forgot about the hiding sun
F family, enjoy your sneak peek! Oh, and nobody tell grandpa what he’s getting for Father’s Day

Ok so seriously, I NEEEEED to photograph a family, an engaged couple, a high school senior, your dog – anyone downtown! Loved it!!
So here are some shots of the fab ladies that I am so happy to be able to talk photography with!! Enjoy
Surprise, Happy Mother's Day | San Diego Children's Photographer | Sophie Crew Photography
Monday, May 10th, 2010I had the pleasure of photographing these ADORABLE kiddos a couple of weeks ago but had to keep it a secret until today because it was a Mother’ Day surprise from Grandma to her daughter – momma to these three beauties. They were so cute, and we had a great time. It’s awesome that they were able to keep it a secret – I know that the moment we tell Ava about a secret, it’s the first thing out of her mouth!
Anyways, wishing every momma out there a wonderful Mother’s Day!!!
